CCD astrometry and components instrumental magnitude difference of 432 Hipparcos wide visual double stars
Context: We measured the angular separations, position angles, ΔV, Δ y and Δ I of wide visual double stars during the period2003-2005. At least one component of the double stars in our sample hasan entry in the Hipparcos catalogue. Aims: Our measurements are acontribution to the study of the nature of these double stars. Methods: The northern double stars of the project were observed with the1.2 m telescope of the Kryonerion observatory and the southern with the1.0 m SAAO. We performed multiple-exposure CCD imaging of our targetsand used the standard procedure of data reduction and astrometric CCDcalibrations. Results: We present measurements of 213 northern and 219southern wide binaries.Based on observations made at Kryonerion Observatory of the NationalObservatory of Athens, Greece, and the South African AstronomicalObservatory. The Pul-3 catalogue of 58483 stars in the Tycho-2 system
A catalogue of positions and proper motions of 58483 stars (Pul-3) hasbeen constructed at the Pulkovo observatory. The Pul-3 is based on theresults of measurements of photographic plates with galaxies (Deutsch'splan). All plates were taken using the Pulkovo Normal Astrograph (thefirst epoch is in the 1950s and the second epoch is in the 1970s).The Pul-3 catalogue contains stars of mainly 12 to 16.5 mag in 146fields with galaxies in the declination zone from -5o to+85o. The Tycho-2 has been used as a reference catalogue.The mean epoch of the Pul-3 is 1963.25. The internal positional accuracyof the Pul-3 catalogue at the mean epoch of observations is ±80mas. The accuracy of the proper motions is mostly within ±3mas/yr to ±12 mas/yr. Comparisons of the Pul-3 with Tycho-2 andARIHIP have been done at the mean epoch of the Pul-3. Speckle Interferometry at the US Naval Observatory. V.
The results of 1544 speckle interferometric observations of 637 binarystars, ranging in separation from 0.25" to 5.25", are tabulated. Theseobservations were obtained using the 66 cm refractor at the US NavalObservatory in Washington, DC, with an intensified CCD detector. This isthe fifth in a series of papers presenting measures obtained with thissystem and covers the period 1998 January 1 through December 31. Randomerrors for all measures are estimated to be 17.6 mas in separation and0.55d/ρ in position angle, where ρ is the separation inarcseconds.

Two-colour photometry for 9473 components of close Hipparcos double and multiple stars
Using observations obtained with the Tycho instrument of the ESAHipparcos satellite, a two-colour photometry is produced for componentsof more than 7 000 Hipparcos double and multiple stars with angularseparations 0.1 to 2.5 arcsec. We publish 9473 components of 5173systems with separations above 0.3 arcsec. The majority of them did nothave Tycho photometry in the Hipparcos catalogue. The magnitudes arederived in the Tycho B_T and V_T passbands, similar to the Johnsonpassbands. Photometrically resolved components of the binaries withstatistically significant trigonometric parallaxes can be put on an HRdiagram, the majority of them for the first time. Based on observationsmade with the ESA Hipparcos satellite.

Speckle Interferometry at the US Naval Observatory. III.
Position angles and separations resulting from 2578 speckleinterferometric observations of 590 binary stars are tabulated. This isthe third in a series of papers presenting measures obtained using the66 cm refractor at the US Naval Observatory in Washington, DC, andcovers the period from 1995 June through 1996 December. Program starsrange in separation from 0.2" to 4.3", with a limiting magnitude ofV=11. Random errors are estimated to be 17.0 mas in separation and0.56d/rho in position angle, where rho is the separation in arcseconds.These are the first results acquired using an improved intensified CCDdetector. The new detector, in concert with an intensity-filteringtechnique applied in software, has permitted a 1 mag increase in dynamicrange, to 3.5 mag, for pairs separated by about 2". The instrumentationand calibration are briefly described, with an emphasis on thecharacteristics of the new detector. The software filter used toincrease the dynamic range is also described.

GPM - compiled catalogue of absolute proper motions of stars in selected areas of sky with galaxies.

Absolute stellar proper motions with reference to galaxies of the M81 group
We report on the measurement of absolute proper motions of stars ofmagnitude 7 to 14.5 in a 2 deg X 2 deg field in the region of the M81group of galaxies. This work is part of the Bonn program for theextragalactic link of Hipparcos. The proper motions were determined froma collection of photographic plates covering the time interval from 1894to 1994. The absolute reference system for the proper motions isrepresented by the galaxies M81, M81, and NGC3077, for which accurateoptical reference positions were obtained by means of an imagecross-correlation technique. For the majority of stars, the internalproper motion accuracy is better than 1 mas/a. The precision of therealization of the absolute system is found to be around 1 mas/a. Intotal, our measurements yield absolute proper motions for 24 Hipparcosstars and positions, proper motions and photometry for 330 additionalstars including a number of visual binaries and high proper motionstars. Among the latter one G-type sub-dwarf is identified. The resultsare relevant as a contribution to the Hipparcos link, but also as adatabase for kinematic investigations.

Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope Near-Ultraviolet Bright Object Catalog
We present a photometric catalog of 2244 objects detected by theUltraviolet Imaging Telescope in the near-ultraviolet (NUV; 1650A <λ < 2900 A) during the Astro Space Shuttle mission. Sources inthe catalog are as faint as m_nuv_ ~ 18.8, or f_nuv_ ~ 1.1 x 10^16^ ergss^-1^ cm^-2^ A^-1^, but the survey is not complete to this level.Optical catalogs were used to cross identify sources and derive NUV - Vcolors. A majority of the objects (88%) do indeed have proposed opticalidentifications from catalogs, and most are stars. Our purpose increating the catalog is to form a database useful for identifying veryblue objects and performing Galactic UV stellar population studies.

SN 1993J in M 81: One year of observations at Asiago.
The observations of SN 1993J in M 81, obtained at Asiago throughout thefirst year after explosion and consisting of about 80 photometricmeasurements and 40 spectra, are presented. The light curve has beenfound peculiar showing two maxima similar to SN 1987A but with a fasterevolution. In the late phases, two regimes in the luminosity decline areidentified, with the radioactive exponential tail setting in around day150 and showing a rate of decline similar to that of SNIa. Although theabsorption correction to be applied is still controversial, theintensity of the interstellar NaI lines indicates a moderately strongreddening which imply an absolute magnitude M_B_=-17.6 at secondarymaximum. Also the spectral evolution is peculiar with the type IIsignatures leaving place, a few weeks after the explosion, to those onesof type Ib, although some H emissions remain visible. High resolutionprofiles of forbidden OI lines reveal the presence of clumping in theejecta.

Magnitudes and colors of SN 1993J comparison stars
A catalog and finding chart with cross-identifications to other chartsand calalogs, are provided for 36 comparison stars of SN 1993J within 16min from the center of M81. Revised V-band magnitudes and-whereavailable-U-B, B-V, V-Rc, and V-Ic colors arelisted for 35 stars with 9.5 less than or equal to V less than or equalto 15.5, and a fainter one ('a') at V = 17.8. For stars more than 6 minfrom the nucleus of M81, the Guide Star Catalog (GSC) photovisualmagnitudes, mpv, can be converted to the V system, throughV* = mpv + 0.04 + 0.15 (B-V), with a mean error of0.03 mag when the color index is known and, less precisely,V* = mpv + 0.50 +/- -0.1 mag, when it is not.

Observations of double stars and new pairs. XIV
Results of a continuing survey of visual double stars are presented,including 4880 measurements made from February 1987 to November 1989.The positions in WDS format and Durchmusterung numbers are given for 194pairs first reported here. Micrometer measurements of 1142 doubles madewith the Swarthmore 61 cm refractor are presented. Magnitudes areestimated for some of the objects. Plate measurements, plateorientations, position angles, number of nights, and measured exposuresare given. Visual observations of 342 pairs obtained in May 1989 atCerro Tololo, mostly with the 1.0 m reflector, are reported.

CCD photometric UBVR sequences for NGC 2403 and M 81
CCD UBVR Cousins photometric sequences are presented for stars inselected fields near the galaxies NGC 2403 and M 81. The sequences reachfrom about 15 to 22 mag and 17 to 21 mag in V for the fields near NGC2403 and M 81, respectively. The limiting magnitude in U is about 20.5mag in both cases.
