UBV beta Database for Case-Hamburg Northern and Southern Luminous Stars
A database of photoelectric UBV beta photometry for stars listed in theCase-Hamburg northern and southern Milky Way luminous stars surveys hasbeen compiled from the original research literature. Consisting of over16,000 observations of some 7300 stars from over 500 sources, thisdatabase constitutes the most complete compilation of such photometryavailable for intrinsically luminous stars around the Galactic plane.Over 5000 stars listed in the Case-Hamburg surveys still lackfundamental photometric data.

Miscellaneous spectroscopic notes
Results of slit-spectrograph observations are reported for approximately260 stars. The data presented range from recognition of many new Ap, Am,and other unusual stars to H-alpha observations of early-typesupergiants and Be stars. The material discussed was obtained over thepast 40 years at a number of U.S. observatories and at the DominionAstrophysical Observatory in Victoria, B.C.

Distant anticenter A-F stars and the galactic abundance gradient
IIDS (Intensified Image Dissector Scanner) spectrophotometry wasperformed for 16 objects suspected of being highly reddened A-F starslocated in a Galactic anticenter field at l = 186 deg and b = -2.5 deg.The stars were classified according to spectral type. Two of the starsappear to be luminous F-type stars having large galactocentric distances(12-30 kpc). These two stars are moderately metal-poor, consistent withan abundance gradient in the Galactic disk of d(Fe/H)dR = -0.08 + or -0.04/kpc. Supplementary photographic image-tube spectrograms have beenused as comparisons in the determination of the stellar calciumabundances. The results of the present investigation indicate that IIDSspectrophotometry can be used to obtain spectral classifications andpreliminary abundance measurements for early-type stars.
