CCD Measurements of Double and Multiple Stars at NAO Rozhen. III
Using the 2-m telescope of the Bulgarian National AstronomicalObservatory at Rozhen, observations of 55 multiple stars were carriedout during one night, December 16/17. 2006. This is the third series ofCCD measurements of double and multiple stars carried out at Rozhen. Inthe paper we present the results for the position angle and separationfor 49 multiple stars (67 pairs) which could be measured.

The Geneva-Copenhagen survey of the Solar neighbourhood. Ages, metallicities, and kinematic properties of ˜14 000 F and G dwarfs
We present and discuss new determinations of metallicity, rotation, age,kinematics, and Galactic orbits for a complete, magnitude-limited, andkinematically unbiased sample of 16 682 nearby F and G dwarf stars. Our˜63 000 new, accurate radial-velocity observations for nearly 13 500stars allow identification of most of the binary stars in the sampleand, together with published uvbyβ photometry, Hipparcosparallaxes, Tycho-2 proper motions, and a few earlier radial velocities,complete the kinematic information for 14 139 stars. These high-qualityvelocity data are supplemented by effective temperatures andmetallicities newly derived from recent and/or revised calibrations. Theremaining stars either lack Hipparcos data or have fast rotation. Amajor effort has been devoted to the determination of new isochrone agesfor all stars for which this is possible. Particular attention has beengiven to a realistic treatment of statistical biases and errorestimates, as standard techniques tend to underestimate these effectsand introduce spurious features in the age distributions. Our ages agreewell with those by Edvardsson et al. (\cite{edv93}), despite severalastrophysical and computational improvements since then. We demonstrate,however, how strong observational and theoretical biases cause thedistribution of the observed ages to be very different from that of thetrue age distribution of the sample. Among the many basic relations ofthe Galactic disk that can be reinvestigated from the data presentedhere, we revisit the metallicity distribution of the G dwarfs and theage-metallicity, age-velocity, and metallicity-velocity relations of theSolar neighbourhood. Our first results confirm the lack of metal-poor Gdwarfs relative to closed-box model predictions (the ``G dwarfproblem''), the existence of radial metallicity gradients in the disk,the small change in mean metallicity of the thin disk since itsformation and the substantial scatter in metallicity at all ages, andthe continuing kinematic heating of the thin disk with an efficiencyconsistent with that expected for a combination of spiral arms and giantmolecular clouds. Distinct features in the distribution of the Vcomponent of the space motion are extended in age and metallicity,corresponding to the effects of stochastic spiral waves rather thanclassical moving groups, and may complicate the identification ofthick-disk stars from kinematic criteria. The Pul-3 catalogue of 58483 stars in the Tycho-2 system
A catalogue of positions and proper motions of 58483 stars (Pul-3) hasbeen constructed at the Pulkovo observatory. The Pul-3 is based on theresults of measurements of photographic plates with galaxies (Deutsch'splan). All plates were taken using the Pulkovo Normal Astrograph (thefirst epoch is in the 1950s and the second epoch is in the 1970s).The Pul-3 catalogue contains stars of mainly 12 to 16.5 mag in 146fields with galaxies in the declination zone from -5o to+85o. The Tycho-2 has been used as a reference catalogue.The mean epoch of the Pul-3 is 1963.25. The internal positional accuracyof the Pul-3 catalogue at the mean epoch of observations is ±80mas. The accuracy of the proper motions is mostly within ±3mas/yr to ±12 mas/yr. Comparisons of the Pul-3 with Tycho-2 andARIHIP have been done at the mean epoch of the Pul-3. We publish 1879 radial velocities of stars distributed in 105 fields of4^{\circ} \times 4^{\circ}. Absolute stellar proper motions with reference to galaxies of the M81 group
We report on the measurement of absolute proper motions of stars ofmagnitude 7 to 14.5 in a 2 deg X 2 deg field in the region of the M81group of galaxies. This work is part of the Bonn program for theextragalactic link of Hipparcos. The proper motions were determined froma collection of photographic plates covering the time interval from 1894to 1994. The absolute reference system for the proper motions isrepresented by the galaxies M81, M81, and NGC3077, for which accurateoptical reference positions were obtained by means of an imagecross-correlation technique. For the majority of stars, the internalproper motion accuracy is better than 1 mas/a. The precision of therealization of the absolute system is found to be around 1 mas/a. Intotal, our measurements yield absolute proper motions for 24 Hipparcosstars and positions, proper motions and photometry for 330 additionalstars including a number of visual binaries and high proper motionstars. Among the latter one G-type sub-dwarf is identified. The resultsare relevant as a contribution to the Hipparcos link, but also as adatabase for kinematic investigations.

High-resolution spectra of the 3.29 micron interstellar emission feature - A summary
High spectral resolution observations of the 3.29-micron interstellaremission feature show two types of profiles. Type 1 has a centralwavelength of 3.289-micron and is observed in extended objects such asplanetary nebulae and H II regions. Type 2 has a central wavelength of3.296 microns and is observed around a small number of stellar sources.Type 2 has a full width at half-maximum of 0.020 micron; Type 1 has abroader FWHM, perhaps as much as 0.042 micron, but this is uncertainbecause of contamination by Pf(delta) emission. These profiles aretabulated for comparison to laboratory data. It is found that noproposed identification for the 3.29-micron emission feature definitelymatches the observational spectra, although amorphous aromatic materialsand heated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons tend to fit the best.

Spectroscopic tests of photoelectric stellar classification of abnormal stars
Spectroscopic classification is obtained for 169 northern A5-G0 starspredicted by Olsen (1979, 1980) to have abnormal spectra on the basis ofStromgren four-color photometry. The success in identifying reddenedearly type stars was nearly 100 percent, for Am and early type weaklined stars about 75 percent, for stars above main sequence about 50percent, for composite spectra about 25 percent, and for Ap and LambdaBoo stars 0 percent. Thus photoelectric photometry is a successful firststep in discovering stars of the more extreme spectroscopicabnormalities.

Estimation of spectral classifications for bright northern stars with interesting Stromgren indices
The purpose of this investigation is to provide spectroscopic observerswith finding lists of potentially interesting objects. From anunpublished UVBY catalogue of 7026 northern stars (mostly brighter than8.3m) 1094 objects with interesting combinations of UVBY indices havebeen selected. Most stars with post-HD classifications have beenexcluded, as well as late F dwarfs belonging to the intermediatepopulation II. For the 792 remaining stars estimated spectralclassifications are given. The techniques and experience from a previouspaper dealing with southern stars have been utilized here. Among thepredicted spectral classifications are 40 OB stars; 262 Ap, Am, or Fmstars; 16 supergiants of types A to G; 110 bright giants of types A to K(class II); 156 double stars or objects with composite spectra; 26 lateF dwarfs; 91 weak-lined dwarf and giant stars of types F to K, includingearly F-type population II field blue stragglers; and a few possiblefield horizontal branch stars, lambda Bootis-type stars, and late-typehalo giants.

Relative motions of 17 visual double stars
The relative motions of 17 visual stars are studied; the data cited indeveloping the equations of relative motion are often from observationsmade 50 or more years ago. The results are compared with the data fromSAO, IDS and AGK catalogs.
